DR. ROTIMI AKERELE
Dr Rotimi Akerele is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and brings with him a wealth of experience in all areas of general practice.
After completing his medical training at the University of Ilorin College of Health Sciences in 2008, he has accrued extensive clinical and managerial experience in Nigeria and Australia.
Dr Rotimi is passionate about supporting patients with mental health challenges and has completed the Focused Psychological Strategies Skills Training Program by the RACGP to effectively deliver evidence-based care in this area.
He has completed both the Professional and Advanced Certificates in Skin Cancer Medicine and General Dermatology, and more notably, has earned a Master of Medicine in Skin Cancer from the University of Queensland. With a background in extensive surgical practice in Africa, Dr Rotimi has consistently achieved excellent outcomes in the diagnosis and surgical management of skin cancer and other minor procedures, including the excision of lumps/cysts and removal of ingrown toenails.
Dr Rotimi also has a special interest in Musculoskeletal Medicine and pain management, holding a Certificate in Musculoskeletal Medicine from the Australian Association of Musculoskeletal Medicine (AAMM). He manages chronic pain and musculoskeletal dysfunction using non-surgical, targeted treatment modalities aimed at addressing the root cause of symptoms while improving function and reducing pain. These include:

- Perineural injection therapy
- Trigger point injections

DR. DAVID SUTHERLAND
MBBS, FRACGP, FACRRM, MClinEd.
David began his medical practice in Bourke, located in rural New South Wales, where he gained extensive experience in procedural, emergency, obstetric, and community medicine. Throughout his time there, he developed a strong interest in GP education, which has continued to shape his career to this day.
After many years in Bourke, David took on a role at the Medical Faculty at the University of New South Wales. He established the Rural Health Unit to encourage and support the entry of rural students into medicine, as well as to inspire urban-origin students to experience rural medicine. He was also involved in setting up the UNSW Rural Clinical Schools and supporting the Indigenous Student Medical Program.
In 2008, David and his wife Jennie moved to Braidwood where they established a general practice service and continued to be involved in GP training programs. David’s goal has been to encourage growth in the medical and allied health workforce in Braidwood and the surrounding area.

DR MUYIWA KUTEYI

Meet our esteemed medical practitioner, Dr. Olumuyiwa Kuteyi, fondly known by his patients and colleagues as “Muyi”. His journey into medicine began at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, where he completed his initial medical training in 2007. Drawn by his passion for health care and commitment to patient welfare, he gained extensive skills practicing in Nigeria before he decided to advance his medical experience in the UK.
In the UK, Dr. Kuteyi furthered his medical career in Acute and Internal Medicine, enriching his knowledge and honing his skills. Subsequently, he decided to broaden his horizon in Alice Springs Hospital, Australia, where he completed further rotations in General Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, and Emergency Medicine.
Today, as a valued member of our clinic, Dr. Kuteyi brings a comprehensive and compassionate approach to patient care. He enjoys every facet of General Practice, and is especially interested in chronic disease management, mental health, child and adolescent health, skin checks, occupational health, women’s health, and contraception. Dr. Adesina holds an MBChB and an MMed in Family Medicine, equipping him with extensive knowledge in a range of medical practices.
Having relocated to Australia in 2021, Dr. Adesina served the community of Cobar town, NSW for over two rewarding years before gracing our team with his presence. Prior to his move, he played a pivotal role as the Chief Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health and Social Services in Namibia. His illustrious career in Namibia has endowed him with profound clinical insights and a rich perspective on healthcare practices.

Dr. Shirley is a compassionate and skilled General Practitioner who has settled here to serve the community of Braidwood with her lovely family. With a career rooted in patient-centered care, Dr. Shirley is committed to providing holistic and comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families alike.
Born and raised in Queanbeyan, and later moving to the NSW South Coast where her family raised beef cattle, Dr. Shirley began her healthcare journey as a Registered Nurse, working in many areas of health, including a locum nurse stint in our very own Braidwood MPS. With family in town, she quickly realised our little town would one day be her long-term home. Relocating to Queensland, she studied Medicine and gained invaluable experience as an intern and Resident doctor at Bundaberg Base Hospital. She further honed her skills as a General Practice Registrar in Goulburn before returning to her beloved Braidwood.
Her areas of interest reflect her dedication to diverse aspects of healthcare. From women’s health and fertility to chronic disease management and palliative care, Dr. Shirley approaches each field with empathy and deep understanding. Dr Syed Shamoon Siraj
Dr. Shamoon Siraj brings over 15 years of diverse Australian medical experience to his practice. After completing his medical training in Pakistan in 1996, he moved to Australia in 2008 and began his medical career in the Emergency Department. He then undertook nine months of intensive ICU registrar training, which solidified his knowledge in acute and critical care.
Dr. Siraj’s extensive medical background includes five years as a medical registrar, where he gained comprehensive Australian experience across various specialties, including cardiology, respiratory, renal, and neurology. This diverse exposure has equipped him with the skills to manage complex medical conditions through a holistic and patient-cantered approach.
With a strong interest in geriatric medicine, Dr. Siraj has provided care for elderly patients, focusing on medical optimization, cognitive assessments, and capacity evaluations. During his three years in ortho-geriatric medicine, he skilfully managed pre- and post-operative care, ensuring optimal outcomes through meticulous and compassionate care.

DR. SAMANEH, M.D.
Dr. Samaneh is a highly skilled and empathetic General Practitioner with a strong commitment to delivering patient-centered care. She earned her medical degree from the prestigious Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran in 2021, where she developed a strong foundation in clinical medicine through rigorous academic training.
During her medical education, Dr. Samaneh completed nearly two years of intensive internship, gaining hands-on experience across various medical specialties. This period of training exposed her to a diverse range of health conditions, allowing her to sharpen her diagnostic skills and enhance her clinical judgment.
Following her graduation, Dr. Samaneh worked as a General Practitioner in a busy, high-volume clinic, where she independently managed a wide array of acute and chronic medical cases. Mrs Laura Akerele

Meet Laura Akerele, a skilled and experienced practice nurse who has dedicated her career to providing high-quality care to her patients. She studied nursing at the Australian Catholic University and has a wealth of experience working in both psychiatric and primary care settings.
Laura began her nursing career as a psychiatric nurse at Hyson Green Hospital, where she gained valuable experience working with patients dealing with mental health conditions. She then transitioned to the role of practice nurse in Canberra, where she honed her skills in providing primary care services such as wound care, vaccinations, and health assessments.
In her most recent position, Laura took on a managerial role, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice and ensuring that patients received the best possible care. Despite her busy role, Laura is known for her jovial, lively, and caring nature. She is passionate about providing patient-centered care and takes the time to get to know her patients, listen to their concerns, and provide them with the support they need.

Dr Charlotte Mcclure
Dr. Charlotte McClure is a chiropractor who grew up in Braidwood. After completing her education at Braidwood Central School, she went on to study chiropractic at Macquarie University.
Upon graduating, she returned to Canberra to begin practicing, eventually opening a rural clinic in Braidwood.
Dr. McClure has additional training in neuro-developmental pediatric chiropractic and has experience working with sports teams and aged care facilities. She employs a variety of techniques including SOT, diversified, Thompson, activator, and various soft tissue and stretching protocols.

She received her Bachelor of Applied Science from Cumberland College of Health Sciences in Sydney in 1980 and her post-graduate qualification in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 1987.
