Comprehensive Skin Cancer Checks & Advanced Mole Mapping in Canberra

At WSMC Skin Cancer Clinic, we provide high-quality, evidence-based skin cancer care delivered by an Accredited Skin Cancer Physician with a Master of Medicine in Skin Cancer.

We offer patients a clear choice between a bulk-billed standard skin check and an advanced skin surveillance service using total body photography, supported by modern imaging technology and clinical expertise.

How the Advanced Skin Check Works

Step 1: Total Body Photography (Nurse Appointment)
A trained nurse performs full-body photography using FotoFinder technology in a private and professional setting to create a detailed baseline record of your skin.

Step 2: Doctor Review & Skin Examination
An Accredited Skin Cancer Physician reviews the images, performs a full skin examination using dermoscopy, and uses AI-assisted tools to support identification of changes over time.

Important information
Total body photography is performed by trained nursing staff. All images are reviewed by an Accredited Skin Cancer Physician, and all diagnoses and management decisions are made by the doctor.

Who Should Consider Total Body Photography?

Advanced skin surveillance may be particularly helpful if you:
• Have many or atypical moles
• Have a personal or family history of melanoma
• Have had skin cancer previously
• Want baseline images for long-term monitoring
• Are concerned about subtle skin changes that are difficult to track visually

Our Technology

WSMC Skin Cancer Clinic uses FotoFinder Automated Total Body Mapping (ATBM) combined with digital dermoscopy to create a high-resolution photographic record of your skin, with magnification of up to approximately 500×, supporting detailed assessment of skin lesions.

This technology allows careful comparison of images over time and supports doctor-led skin cancer assessment and ongoing monitoring. AI-assisted analysis is used to support clinical assessment only, and final diagnosis and treatment decisions are always made by an Accredited Skin Cancer Physician.
